Unlimited Wealth = Unlimited Resources???

When we talk about unlimited wealth, we talk about this man. His fortune is a staggering US$45 billion!

Consider that he made this money in the 25 years or so since Microsoft was founded in 1975. If you presume that he has worked 14 hours a day on every business day of the year since then, that means he's been making money at a staggering million dollars per hour, around $300 per second!!!
As I am blogging for 1 minute, Bill Gates has just increased US$18000 in his pocket. How about being him for a day? In one day, he will be earning US$14,000,000!! Crazy..

His wealth is even greater than some countries in the world.
Being the richest man in the world, does he have any constraints?

A list of richest man/woman in the world in the year 2005 is found in the Forbes magazine online.

As far as i concern,Bill Gates owns a lot of fixed property which he cant use them as a buying medium(cash). His wealth is calculated by accumulating all the assets he has and his company. In fact,if we compare who has the most cash in hand,i think that there are surely other ppl standing in front of him.
Correct me if i am wrong cause i do not know Bill Gates well

Yes, you are right. His money comes in the form of assets, i.e. his shareholding in Microsoft Corp. In terms of cash, very little is known about this. I concur that being cash rich is much better than having your wealth tied down in terms of other assets.

i really hope that i would have his brilliant and creative brain..

however, there are alot of disadvantages when he is so wealthy..

he might be one of the most successful, richest, intelligent n well known man..

however, money isn't everything..
money can't buy the happiness...

so, if i m so wealthy as him, i dun like the things happened as below:

1. i will fell lonely n dun have true frens - usually the people around him will make frens with him due to his wealthiness, but not with the pure purpose of making frens

2. when i m not happy, money could not bring back my smile

3. i will not trust people because i m afraid that other people kidnap or cheat me..

4. since i have to work hard to get rich, i could not use money to buy back the time in order to do other things when i was younger such as showing filial obedience to parents, clubbing, involving in sport n so on..

5. i could not enjoy peaceful n quiet life as the normal people because i will always be the centre attention of the people around the world.. because of the reputation, i could not do anything wrong and i have to worry and m scared..people will distort the news by the way despite a small mistake i made..

greenapple: Yes, money can't buy health, health is also wealth.Money can't buy freedom too. With his money, he can 'buy' the services of a medical team to tend to his health.

i agreed with the second anonymous for this page of comments about the disadvantages.

but think about the advantages of helping others with your money. btw, bill gates has been doing a lot of charity.

money cant buy health but it can buy others out of suffering.

That's absolutely right, Bill Gates and his wife Melinda set up "Bill & Melinda Foundation"- the biggest philanthrophist foundation in the world giving away more than USD5 billion in donations for among others , cancer research.
